  • Significance: The Massachusetts Block is one of eighteen commercial blocks erected between 1888 and 1892 by the Land and River Improvement Company of New Jersey. Designed by Carl Worth, the Massachusetts Block is a good example of low-rise commercial construction, constructed in the downtown area of Superior, Wisconsin, in 1889.
