Deutsch: Ed 4/5 Nr. 8 der Emmentalbahn (EB) In den Jahren 1899 und 1914 beschaffte die Emmentalbahn drei Dampflokomotiven des Typs Ed 4/5 mit den Betriebsnummern 6 bis 8. Die Burgdorf-Thun-Bahn schloss sich der ersten Bestellung mit der Ed 4/5 Nummer 5 an. Solche Tenderloks für gemischten Dienst wurden in ähnlicher Bauart auch für andere Schweizer Privatbahnen gebaut. Die Lokomotiven 5 bis 7 waren ursprünglich Nassdampfmaschinen und arbeiteten nach dem nicht ganz einfachen Zweizylinder-Verbundsystem. Die Maschine Nr. 8 mit Jahrgang 1914 wurde als Heissdampf-Zwillingsmaschine erbaut, entsprach aber sonst weitgehend ihren Vorgängerinnen. Die Heissdampf-Maschine hatte eine grössere Leistung als den anderen Lokomotiven. Nach der Elektrifikation der Emmentalbahn diente die Ed 4/5 Nr. 8 bis 1965 als fahrdrahtunabhängige Reservelokomotive. 1972 wurde sie dem Verein Dampfbahn Bern (DBB) von der EBT geschenkt. 1999 konnte die Lokomotive nach grösseren Revisionsarbeiten und mit einem neuem Kessel den Dienst wieder aufnehmen. |
