Description Deutsche Bundesbahn train E 1827 in Rüdesheim, photosgraphed from a Rhine River excursion boat in July 1973. It looks like the electric locomotive is class E 10, which had been renamed class 110 in 1968. At that time, German and other European trains might have several different types of cars, even in different colors. No more. The Niederwald-Denkmal from the late 19th century is at the top of the hill in the background.
