Description
English: Joint CBRNE exercise tests U.S. and Kuwaiti civilian and military response.

Civilian and military emergency responders from Kuwait and the U.S. conduct a joint chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense detection, assessment and response drill as part of exercise Eagle Resolve, March 30, 2017, in Kuwait. The drill consisted of a scenario involving the detection of hazardous radiation leaking from a shipping container recently delivered to the port. The joint response team comprised of Kuwaiti National Guard, Army, Fire and Police units along with U.S. Coast Guard, Marine Reserve, Army, Army Reserve, Air Force and interagency teams. The joint team’s mission was to train and refine coalition operating procedures on the detection of concealed CBRN or hazardous materials, entering a contaminated area, removing the source of hazardous waste and cleaning the contaminated area if possible. The training tests exercises participant’s ability to respond as a combined joint task force. Exercise Eagle Resolve is the premier U.S. multilateral exercise within the Arabian Peninsula. Since 1999, Eagle Resolve has become the leading engagement between the U.S. and Gulf Cooperation Council nations to collectively address the regional challenges associated with asymmetric warfare in a low-risk setting.
