Description
English: An Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver continental sceat (proto-penny) of Beonna dating to the period c. AD 749 - 760. Obverse depicting central pellet in beaded anulet with legend +BEONNA REX (ᚾᚾᚨ / NNA in Runic). Reverse depicting Saltire within beaded border transecting angles of inner beaded standard; legend E F E + , letters and cross boarded by three pellets. Efe moneyer. Probably East Anglia mint.
