Early Medieval Coin: Silver Sceatta
Description
English: An early medieval silver sceat of Primary Phase Series A2 (BMC type 2a, North 40), c.685-690. Mint unknown but probably Kent.

Obverse shows a radiate bust facing right with legend TIC. The reverse shows a standard containing TOT II. Above the standard is a tufa of 3 pellets (partially visible). Diameter: 11.96mm. Thickness: 1.49mm. Weight: 1.12g. Die axis: 9 o'clock.
