| Description |
English: On Saturday March 29th 2014, thousands of people converged on the forecourt of Manly Council Chambers to celebrate EARTH HOUR. The focus this year was how climate change was affecting the Great Barrier Reef, and the event included a special screening of the documentary 'Lights Out For the Reef" which highlighted these issues.
There were amazing speakers, great bands, and lots of yummy food provided by local eateries. After counting down to Lights Out at 8:30, the crowd was moved across the road to the harbour shore, to form a huge Line in the Sand - and a powerful statement that they are committed to supporting action against Climate Change. Thank you to Corey Maynard Films for capturing this incredible event, and to WWF, the Earth Hour team and the AYCC for helping to make it happen. |
