DescriptionEast Bight Mansion - geograph.org.uk - 641690.jpg |
English: East Bight Mansion. In the 18th century, Sir Cecil Wray built a mansion where the Lincoln Hotel http://www.thelincolnhotel.com/ now stands, though he didn't live there long and moved to his new mansion at Fillingham in 1760. The house was later owned by Lincoln industrialist Alfred Shuttleworth who added this wing in the late 19th century. Though much of the house was demolished in the early 20th century, this side wing was retained and incorporated into the Eastgate Hotel (later the Lincoln Hotel) 133450 when it was built in 1965. |
