English: In January 2020, Storm Gloria devastated one of the Mediterranean’s largest wetlands, the Ebro river delta in Spain. The storm surge swept 3 km inland, inundating rice paddies with sea water and destroying coastal features. Three months later, severe damage to the southern dune area is still clearly visible in this Copernicus Sentinel-2 image acquired on 25 April. Copernicus Sentinel-2 is a two-spacecraft satellite mission used to deliver data that improves knowledge about disasters and climate change.
