Description
English: This is where 6 large apartments buildings all were completely flattened by the Izmit earthquake in 1999. Luckily they were uninhabitated. Residents were supposed to have moved in during June, but were delayed. The fault is seen in the foreground. Aykut Barka has a photo taken of this area from a helicopter.
Français : Six grands immeubles de logements entièrement rasés par le tremblement de terre d'Izmit en 1999. Par chance les appartements étaient inhabités. Les résidents auraient dû emménager en juin, mais il y a eu un contretemps. La faille est visible au premier plan. Aykut Barka dispose d'une photographie de cet endroit prise depuis un hélicoptère.
