Description

Wedding group, Egan-Heffernan wedding : commissioned by Mrs. Heffernan, Seskin, Clonmel

A handsome wedding group from Poole today and still in Clonmel! I get a sense in this that the grooms family feel the young lady married "above" herself judging by the body language and dress of the parents?

From today’s research it transpires that the marriage was celebrated at St Marys Church, Kilsheelan, Co Tipperary. Over 100 Guests attended. The groom is Mr John Egan son of the late Edward Egan of Mayville, Co Waterford, and the bride is Miss Cornelia Heffernan eldest daughter of the late Lieutenant-Colonel William Heffernan R.M.A.C. of Seskin, Clonmel.

The bride was given away by her brother Mr Baggot (or Bagot) Heffernan and the best man was Mr Walter Walsh. The bride’s Mother is Mrs W. Heffernan and her aunt Mrs O'Gorman of Gowran also attended as did the sister of the groom Mrs R.J. Duggan of Monster House Kilkenny. The reception took place at Seskin House (Cottage).

The Consensus is that the people in our photo are L to R

1 Mr R J Duggan

2 Mr Walter Walsh 3 Mrs R J Duggan 4 Mr John Egan 5 Miss Cornelia Heffernan 6 Mrs W. Heffernan (nee Eileen Francis O'Donnell) 7 Baggot Heffernan 8 Vera Heffernan
