Español: Algunas de las curiosidades que podemos destacar del Arco Chato son:
La iglesia tenía paredes de cal y canto; de madera eran su techo, tribunas, coro y un claustro alto. Era de una nave, con 8 capillas laterales; tenía 20 varas de ancho por 48 de largo y 15 de alto. Su capilla era usada como sacristía. Hacia 1803 el convento tenía un solo fraile, anciano; se supone que cerró al poco tiempo. En el interior de la iglesia original se encuentra el famoso "Arco Chato", un gran arco de unos 11 metros de luz, construido en ladrillo, que sostenía el piso del coro alto. Aunque no hay pruebas documentales, se dice que el hecho de que el "Arco Chato" permaneciera incólume desde la colonia hasta inicios del siglo XX confirmaba la estabilidad del suelo, lo cual constituyó una ventaja de Panamá sobre Nicaragua a la hora de decidir la ruta para construir el canal interoceánico
