Transcripción de la ficha: "Esta obra del Barroco tardío captura el instante posterior al pecado original. En la esquina superior izquierda, Dios Padre, en actitud de amonestación, ocupa la parte más luminosa del cuadro. Adán y Eva, tras comer del Árbol del Bien y del Mal, expresan vergüenza por su propia desnudez.

Destaca la ausencia de los dos símbolos del Mal. Por un lado, la serpiente que con astucia sedujo a Eva para que desobedeciera la orden divina; por el otro, el fruto prohibido. A pesar de que en la Biblia no haya una referencia especifica, a partir del Medioevo se representó como una manzana, quizá por la cercanía entre las palabras latinas malum [manzana] y málum [mal]."
