Español: 13/07/2010 El presidente del Partido Popular de Cantabria, Ignacio Diego, anunció que su formación política ha planteado una propuesta en el Senado por medio de la que pretende llevar a cabo una modificación de la Ley de Costas, con el fin de evitar que su estricta aplicación afecte gravemente a cientos de empresas, amenace el futuro laboral de miles de trabajadores y lleve a la desaparición a numerosas explotaciones ganaderas. El presidente de los populares cántabros mantuvo con carácter previo a ese anuncio un encuentro con representantes de la Asociación de Afectados por la norma.
