Description
Español: La obra representa a José, hijo del patriarca hebreo Jacob, escapando y rechazando a la mujer de Putifar, que pretendía acostarse con él. Y aunque en el dorso de la obra una inscripción afirma que es un boceto preparatorio del lienzo del mismo tema que pintó Esquivel y que se conserva en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla, la comparación entre ambas obras ha llevado a creer a algunos autores que en realidad es un boceto preparatorio de otra obra distinta a la conservada en Sevilla, ya que ambas obras difieren en cuanto al tratamiento y a la colocación de los personajes.
