| Description |
English: Way Kambas National Park has The Elephant Conservation Centre (ECC) established in the 1980s. Because elephants are one of the endangered animals in the world, the government of Indonesia made this conservation center. When the ECC was first created, the government hired the locals and taught them how to handle elephants. They were taught to tame the elephants and guide the elephants when they had conflicts with humans in settlements surrounding the national park.
Bahasa Indonesia: Taman Nasional Way Kambas memiliki Pusat Konservasi Gajah (ECC) yang didirikan pada 1980-an. Karena gajah merupakan salah satu hewan langka di dunia, maka pemerintah Indonesia mendirikan pusat konservasi ini. Ketika ECC pertama kali dibuat, pemerintah mempekerjakan penduduk setempat dan mengajari mereka cara menangani dan merawat gajah. Mereka diajarkan untuk menjinakkan gajah dan membimbing gajah ketika mereka memiliki konflik dengan manusia di pemukiman sekitar taman nasional.
