Kommentar: Diese Münze ist eines von vier erhaltenen Geprägen, die den Kopf des Zeus von Phidias zeigen. Sie stammt aus der Sammlung des Düsseldorfer Sammlers Dr. Reinhard Heynen. - Das Standbild des Zeus galt in der Antike als eines der Sieben Weltwunder. Pausanias, der in zeitlicher Nähe zur Herstellung des Münzbildes Olympia besuchte, ist eine ausführliche Beschreibung der monumentalen Gold-Elfenbein-Skulptur zu verdanken.
