[No tablet for your breast. Your Christian mother gives her the jewel that fits her best. A small book, containing special virtue. So Christ procures you grace with God and gives you endless bliss.]
The inscription refers to Elizabeth's mother Anne of Denmark, who apparently gave her daughter a devotional text, instead of jewelry.
