Description
English: Another fashion vignette of the type that the Tacoma Times ran on a daily basis in 1904, based on the fictional "Togtown"; this one focuses on Miss Elizabeth Van Orm of Togtown.

Also, this one appears to have an artist's signature - possibly "Cowles".

  • Text: Elizabeth Van Orm may be distinguished with a "Van" and she may be as delicate and dainty as a flower, but she is not afraid to wear shoes big enough and a skirt short enough and a blouse loose enough to enable her to get over a grass tennis court in a hurry. It is a sight for sore eyes to see her. No wonder the men are all wild over her. The girls in Togtown stand back and wonder why the boys have never been eager to play tennis with them. I could tell them. The girls of Togtown are either too namby-pamby or too boyish. Elizabeth Van Orm is neither; she is simply merry and natural. And how she does get about! Martha is to have a blue tennis suit exactly like Elizabeth Von Orm's green one, made of serge, with a moderated sailor collar, a deep cut yoke and a full sleeve. Miss Van Orm's is stitched with white and she wears a white four-in-hand tie with a white pique vest and collar. Martha's is to be stitched with white, too.
