English: German Enigma electro-mechanical rotor cipher machine with two rotor wheels in box, Feldfernsprecher 33 (FF33) field telephone, semaphore (Winkeralphabet) signal flags, etc. on display in the WW2 room of the "Justismuseet" (the Norwegian National Museum of Justice) in Trondheim, Norway
Norsk bokmål: Enigma, tysk krypteringsmaskin. Maskinen ble utviklet av Hugo Koch som solgte patentet videre til ingeniør Arthur Scherbius. Enigma finnes i forskjellige versjoner som går helt tilbake til 1919. Arthur Scherbius grunnla et firma i Berlin med tanke på å fremstille maskinen, og de første kommersielle versjonene kom på markedet i 1923. Atskillige eksemplarer ble kjøpt av den tyske marinen i 1926. Hæren tok i bruk maskinen i 1929
