Summary edit

Description
English: Entrance to Dudwick House. The building seen in the background is Dudwick House. Dudwick House is believed to stand on the location of the Old Dudwick Manor house, thought to have been rebuilt in the 17th century. In the 18th century the estate was owned by members of the Wright/Sewell families who lived in Buxton for many generations and in 1843 John Wright made extensive alterations. Mary Wright, a sister of John Wright of (old) Dudwick House, was a famous author of children's books and her daughter Anna (1820-1878) became famous by writing Black Beauty > 667394 - 597716. Dudwick House was rebuilt again in 1938 by R.G Carter as builder and Sir Guy Dauber as architect. http://www.buxton-norfolk.co.uk/h_houses.htm
