Gegründet 1. Juli 1930 durch Erich Mantel (* 6. Juli 1895; † nach Juni 1966). Handel mit Kürschnersortimenten aller gangbaren Artikel.
Erich Mantel besuchte die Oberrealschule in Breslau; lernte bei Firma Bittmann in Breslau und war nach anschließendem Kriegsdienst für verschiedene Firmen als Reisender und Vertreter tätig. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs führte seine Frau das Geschäft weiter, das wegen Ausbombung fünf mal verlegt werden musste.[1][2]
Vorgängerfirma: Jonni Wende, Düsseldorf, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Str. 18 (auch Leipzig, Brühl 37/39 und Hamburg, Bergstr. 14)
Letzter Inhaber Rauchwarenhändler Dieter Cofalla, der Neffe des Gründers Erich Mantel. Firmenadresse 1967: Dieter Cofalla, Düsseldorf, Graf-Recke-Straße 40.[3]
