Deutsch: Erlangen. Das 1858 erbaute Chemische Laboratorium der Universität Erlangen in der Wasserturmstraße 5.

Angaben zum Bau laut Korrespondenz Erlangen, 1. Jan. in der Allgemeinen Zeitung vom 4. Januar 1858:

  • Bauzeit: August 1856 - Ende 1857
  • Oberleitung: Civilbauingenieur Denzinger
  • Kosten: 30000 fl.
  • Unmittelbare Leitung: Hr. Kinshofer aus München
  • Fassaden nach Entwurf von Oberbaurath Bürklein
Das Haus wurde nach dem damaligen Chemieprofessor Eugen Franz von Gorup-Besánez und wegen seiner sakralen Form liebevoll Gorupskapelle genannt. 1953 wurde es bis zur Unkenntlichkeit umgebaut. Heute gehört das Gebäude zum Institut für Hygiene und med. Mikrobiologie.
