Summary edit

Description
English: Greek and Roman Terracotta Figurines from Italy, Greece and Asia Minor. 5th century BC - 1rst century AC. Figurines with erotic or sexual connotation often come from the Dionysian sphere or the theatre, especially comedy. They are also common as votive offerings to the goddess of love Aphrodite. As burial objects in children's graves they symbolize the missed wedding. Some figurines, such as the group of Amor and Psyche, are to be seen as reflections of famous large scale marble or bronze sculptures.
Deutsch: Griechische und römische Terrakotten aus Italien, Griechenland und Kleinasien. 5. Jhd. v. Chr. bis 1. Jhd. n. Chr.
