Canon Law. ■ All human power is from evil, and must therefore be un-der the Pope. The Pope has the right to annul State laws, treaties, con-stitutions, etc., and to absolve from obedience thereto as soonas they seem detrimental to the rights of the Church, or thoseof the clergy.
