Español: El sol representa al joven Estado que surge del pasado hacia el futuro radiante, no se bordea ya que significa un horizonte abierto al infinito para aspirar a las más elevadas metas de superación en camino siempre ascendente.
Los DIEZ haces luminosos simbolizan cada uno de los municipios. La estrella simboliza un nuevo ideal orientado hacia metas superiores. Según la Cultura Maya, el color azul cobalto, muestra el mar de Quintana Roo. El glifo maya del caracol representa los orígenes étnicos de Quintana Roo. La riqueza forestal quintanarroense la representan los tres triángulos.
