Español: El escudo del Municipio Machiques de Perijá se basa en la propuesta presentada originalmente para el escudo de armas del Distrito Perijá por el Sr. Mario Romero con las modificaciones hechas por el historiador Dr. Rutilio Ortega González, el cual, dio el diseño final al escudo el Artista Plástico Yuri Hernández. Los elementos compositivos del escudo justifican los valores históricos, económicos y religiosos del municipio.
