... A parte final do itinerário, até Vilar Formoso, atravessa um planalto animado pela travessia do Côa, feita do alto de panorâmico viaduto. Mas a estação de Vilar Formoso, por si só, valeria a viagem. A decoração a azulejo, da autoria de João Alves de Sá, foi concebida de forma a mostrar «o melhor de Portugal» aos visitantes estrangeiros.
