| Description | Masai youth in the Masai Mara. They are the locals subsisting exclusively off the land. They raise goats and cattle and feed exclusively off them. Their diet consists of meat from sheep and cattle, milk from the cow and blood from the cow, which they mix with milk. They do not kill the cow to extract blood: it's a specialized technique involving making a small incision on the side of the cow's neck. Cow blood mixed with milk is served on special occasions only.
