Description The sixth production U.S. Navy Grumman F-14A-25-GR Tomcat (BuNo 157985) in flight, in 1973. It was assigned to Naval Weapons Test Center, Naval Air Station Point Mugu, California (USA). 157985 crashed on 20 June 1973 when an AIM-7 Sparrow missile pitched up on launch and ruptured a fuel tank, causing a fire which forced the crew to eject.
