The pilot was Lt(JG) T.G. Nielson, USNR. VF-721 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 14 (CVG-14) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Boxer (CV-21) for a deployment to Korea from 2 March to 24 October 1951. Note the rugged terrain below. |
