English: Gonzales, LA, September 11, 2005 - A volunteer walks a dog rescued from the path of destruction left by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Many of the animals who have been rescued are brought to the Lamar Dixon Expo Center where they are cared for until they are reunited with their owner or are adopted. Mary Beth Delarm/ FEMA
