Description Frankfurt am Main, Stadtwald im Stadtteil Sachsenhausen: Das Königsbrünnchen ist eine in Stein gefasste Quelle nordwestlich des Jacobiweihers, im Cleeisches Wäldchen genannten Auwald-Teil des Oberwaldes. Das Wasser der Quelle fließt bereits nach wenigen Metern dem Königsbach (auch Luderbach genannt) zu, einem linken Zufluss des Mains. Das Wasser ist in Frankfurt bekannt für seinen Eisenhydroxid- und Schwefelwasserstoff-Gehalt. Das Foto zeigt die 1881 errichtete Quellfassung aus Naturstein; die Oberfläche der vom Quellwasser permanent überflossenen Steine weist aufgrund dessen Eisengehaltes eine hellbraune Oxidierung auf
