Description

Fabriken ved Nidelven var en tidligere industribedrift på den nåværende eiendommen Øvre Bakklandet 4. Dette var Trondheims første egentlige industribedrift, grunnlagt i 1843. I forgrunnen ser man litt av Domkirkegården.

Fabriken ved Nidelven bygde 1849 - 1850 Norges første norskproduserte dampskip "Nidelven" og det første norskproduserte lokomotivet "Thrønderen" 1860 - 1861.

I 1872 ble Fabriken ved Nidelven slått sammen med Trolla Brug og dannet Trondhjems Mekaniske Værksted.
