Description
Français : Fac simile de la gravure anthropomorphique dite du "sorcier", visible dans le musée de la grotte du Roc de Saint Cirq en Dordogne. L'original, découvert (et nommé) en 1953 par l'Abbé Glory, est dans la grotte, où les photos ne sont pas autorisées. Cette gravure, qui mesure 50cm de haut pour 22cm de large, dans le style IV du magdalénien moyen, peut être datée d'environ 17.000 ans avant le présent. Il s'agit d'une des très rares représentations humaines de "l'art des cavernes". Le site est classé au Patrimoine Mondial de l'Humanité par l'UNESCO depuis 1958.
English: Fac simile of the anthropomorphic engraving of the so-called "Sorcerer", in the museum of the "Grotte de Saint Cirq" in Dordogne, France. The original (50cm x 22cm) was discovered in the grotto in 1953 by Abbé Glory. This is a very rare engraving of a human beeing, from the middle magdalenian (ca. 17.000 BP). The cave is classified as "World Heritage" by UNESCO since 1958.
