English: Strasbourg Cathedral or the Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg, German: Liebfrauenmünster zu Straßburg) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Strasbourg, France. Although considerable parts of it are still in Romanesque architecture, it is widely considered to be among the finest examples of high, or late, Gothic architecture. Erwin von Steinbach is credited for major contributions from 1277 to his death in 1318. At 142 metres, it was the world's tallest building from 1647 to 1874. It remained the tallest church in the world until 1880, when it was surpassed firstly by Cologne Cathedral and then the 161 metre Ulm Münster. Today it is the sixth-tallest church in the world.

De bouw van de uit roze zandsteen opgetrokken kathedraal begon in 1276 en werd na een 163 jaar durende bouwperiode, waarin bijna onafgebroken werd gewerkt, in 1439 voltooid. De kathedraal heeft een van de hoogste kerktorens ter wereld, de noordelijke toren meet maar liefst 142 meter. De Notre-Dame van Straatsburg is hét voorbeeld geworden voor de Zuid-Duitse gotiek.
Deutsch: Das Liebfrauenmünster (frz. Cathédrale Notre-Dame) in Straßburg ist ein römisch-katholisches Gotteshaus und gehört zu den bedeutendsten Kathedralen der europäischen Architekturgeschichte sowie zu den größten Sandsteinbauten der Welt. Wie die Stadt Straßburg im Allgemeinen verbindet auch das Liebfrauen-Münster deutsche und französische Kultureinflüsse. Das Münster wurde 1176 bis 1439 aus rosa Vogesensandstein an der Stelle eines abgebrannten Vorgängerbaus aus den Jahren 1015 bis 1028 errichtet, der seinerseits ein 1007 abgebranntes Gotteshaus aus karolingischer Zeit ersetzt hatte. Das neue Gebäude entstand zunächst im romanischen, dann im gotischen Stil. Von 1625 bis 1874 war das Münster mit seinem 142 Meter hohen Nordturm das höchste Bauwerk der Menschheit.
Français : La cathédrale Notre-Dame est une cathédrale catholique romaine construite à Strasbourg, représentative de l'architecture gothique. Avec ses 142 mètres, après avoir été l'édifice le plus haut du monde de 1647 à 1874[1], elle est actuellement la deuxième plus haute cathédrale de France après celle de Rouen, achevée précisément en 1884, et culminant à 151 mètres[2]. Elle est reconnaissable par son unique clocher surmonté d'une flèche.
