Description
English: Two shots of a husk from the fruit of an American beech (Fagus grandifolia, syn. F. americana), Rutgers Ecological Preserve, New Jersey, USA – This was rooted in a piece of moss covered deadfall. Its about 3/4 inch across. I've never seen anything like it. It was fairly tough and a little pliable.
