English: Hugo Falkenheim (1856 - 1945) was a famous Professor of Pediatrics at Königsberg, todays Kaliningrad/Russia. He founded the clinic of Pediatrics at the University of Königsberg/ Prussia, who existed as part of the University only from 1921 until 1945, when she was destroyed at the end of the war. Falkenheim emigrated in 1941 with his son Curt, as well medicin and chief of another hospital at Königsberg, to USA (Rochester, E.Y.) - see wikipedia.de
Deutsch: Hugo Falkenheim (1856 - 1945) war Oberarzt bei Ludwig Lichtheim an der Medizinischen Klinik der Universität Königsberg und spezialisierte sich 1888 auf Kinderheilkunde. 1912 gelang es ihm, eine Kinderklinik unter seiner Leitung zu bauen. Erst 1912 wurde die Kinderklinik als Lehrfach der Medizinischen Fakultät anerkannt, wobei Falkenheim das erste Ordinariat erhielt. 1925 schied er aus der Universitätslaufbahn aus, führte aber weiter eine andere Kinderklinik in Königsberg, bis er, obwohl er verdienter Arzt während des 1. Weltkrieges war, 1941 vor der Verfolgung durch die Nationalsozialisten zu seinem Sohn in die USA fliehen musste. - siehe wikipedia.de |
