| Description |
English: Built in 1904 and heavily renovated with a new facade in the 1930s, this Stripped Classical Revival-style building was originally the home of the Farmers Bank, which remained in the building until constructing a larger building at the edge of Downtown Pomeroy in the late 20th Century. After the bank moved out, the building became home to the Pomeroy Daily Sentinel, a newspaper that once served the town of Pomeroy and Meigs County, Ohio, until it was acquired by WV News in 2022. The building features a limestone front facade with fluted pilasters, steel windows, a recessed entrance bay, paneled spandrel panels, and a front stoop. The building is a contributing structure in the Pomeroy Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. |
