| Description |
English: Farmland near Teffont Magna 1 These large crop fields east and to the north of Teffont Magna lie at the base of the chalk downland that rises up to Teffont Down to the right. Wheat is the predominant crop, but it was only with the use of fertilizer in the 20th century that the land around Teffont Magna could be exploited. This was because it was cut off from the rich pasture land afforded by the clay and loam soils of the Nadder valley to the south by the greensand ridge that runs east-west in between. |
