It was an immense satisfaction for us all, especially for Hansen, for it proved our chronometersto be in excellent order. Little by little the sunlightsensibly faded away, while we went below to dinner. At 2 oclock the eclipse wras at its height, and wecould notice even clown in the saloon how the daylighthad diminished. After dinner we observed the momentwhen the eclipse ended, and the moons dark disc clearedthe rim of the sun. Sunday, Ap
