Bait Fishing Ordinary black bass tackle is quite suit- able for either fish, with fly or bait.Braided linen lines are preferable, however,to silk ones, as the latter soon rot in saltwater. A gut leader about four feet longand snelled hooks, Nos. i to 3, are all rightfor bait-fishing. The best bait is a smallsardine, anchovy or mullet, though thecasting spoon, with a single hook, or apearl squid of small size may be used ifkept in constant motion on the surface.
