Summary edit

Description
English: The northern spotted owl, a state (California) and federally protected species. A flagship and indicator species of northwest forests. At risk from habitat loss and encroaching barred owls among other things, managers must continually monitor their presence on the landscape, and do what they can to promote the recovery of the species.
