Description
Deutsch: Ferdinand Reichsfürst von Bretzenheim (1801-1855). Ferdinand war der 2. Fürst von und zu Bretzenheim und seit 1831 verheiratet mit Prinzessin Karoline von Schwarzenberg (1806–1875). Sein Vater war Karl August Friedrich Joseph von Bretzenheim (* 24. Dezember 1768; † 27. Februar 1823 in Wien), der erste Reichsfürst von und zu Bretzenheim. Karl August war ein außerehelich geborener Sohn des Kurfürsten Karl Theodor von Bayern (1724–1799) aus seiner Beziehung mit jungen Maria Josefa Seyfert (1748–1771), eine Schauspielerin und Tänzerin am Mannheimer Theater, die durch den Kurfürsten in den Rang einer „Gräfin von Heydeck“ erhoben wurde und früh verstarb. Das Fürstentum Bretzenheim an der Nahe wurde 1789 von Kurfürsten Karl Theodor von Bayern (1724–1799) auf Bitte und Geldzahlung an Kaiser Josef II. für seinen Sohn erworben und ging bereits 1792 durch die Französische Revolutionsarmee unter General Custine verloren.
