Title
English: Ferry at Snoqualmie Hop Ranch, ca. 1885
Description
English: In late 19th century, the Snoqualmie River had several ferry crossings. Some of the ferries were simple vessels which were pulled back and forth across the river by a system of ropes or cables. One of these crossed the river at the Snoqualmie Hop Ranch, near the town of Snoqualmie, Washington.

This 1880s photo shows the Snoqualmie River ferry at Snoqualmie Hop Ranch. Passengers could pull on the ropes to help the ferry operator move the vessel across the river.
