| Description |
English: Carriage horses in Vienna have to pull carriages through heavy traffic. Horses as prairie animals are used to wide open spaces and would run away normally if they feel endangered. Cities with their tight streets, noisy vehicles and many people are a constant stress factor for easily frightened animals like horses. They are not suited to this environment. Every year there are traffic accidents involving spooked horses.
Deutsch: Fiakerpferde in Wien müssen Kutschen durch dichten Verkehr ziehen. Pferde als Fluchttiere sind an große, weite Flächen gewöhnt und würden bei Anzeichen von Gefahr flüchten. Städte mit ihren engen Straßen, lauten Autos und vielen Leuten sind ein permanenter Stressfaktor für schreckhafte Tiere wie Pferde. Sie passen nicht in dieses Umfeld. Jedes Jahr passieren Verkehrsunfälle mit aufgeschreckten Pferden. |
