DescriptionFicus benjamina cutting, four months old.png |
English: Given favorable conditions, Ficus benjamina can exhibit rather rapid growth. This individual started out as a small cutting rooted in tap water, was transferred to hydroponics at the start of the growing season and then left mostly undisturbed. After four months, it has already outgrown its pot and reached a height of about 60 cm. The plant's natural growing pattern also demonstrates another characteristic trait of this species: even without pruning and when kept indoors all year round, F. benjamina can and will spontaneously branch at a fairly frequent rate. |
