DescriptionFirst Alaska Crude Oil from Prudhoe Bay Field (1977).png |
English: The first crude to arrive from the Prudhoe Bay Field in Alaska was encapsulated and gifted to employees at BP Alaska at the time. This photo was taken by Peter F. Barth who conducted the first production simulation studies for BP in 100 Pine St., San Francisco, California, in 1977. Before the simulations were possible, Barth used accounting sheets to do field wide forecasts by hand. He later became a production supervisor in Anchorage, before moving to headquarters to coordinate BP North American technology efforts in 1987. |
