| Description |
English: Built in 1872 and heavily renovated in 1923-1924, this Classical Revival-style building was constructed to house the congregation of the First Christian Church of Frankfort. The building is clad in red flemish bond brick with limestone trim, a front portico with engaged ionic columns and doric pilasters, a front pediment with cornices featuring dentils, a front-gable roof with a gable parapet, entrance doors with decorative surrounds featuring engaged doric columns and pediments, oxeye windows above the entrance doors, metal screens, and a stone base. The building was expanded in the mid-20th Century with a wing along Ann Street, and an addition from 2001 with a gabled roof. The oldest section of the church is a contributing structure in the Frankfort Commercial Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and the Central Frankfort Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. |
