Description
English: Plaque below the first Union Jack, representing the union of the kingdoms of England and Scotland, which flies here as monument to the foundation of Australia. During the establishment of the colony of New South Wales on 26 January 1788, this was the flag in the use, and was raised at this location. The old Customs House is beside it.
